This concert will explore the links from JS Bach to his eldest son, CPE Bach, to Haydn, Mozart, and even Hétu, a modern Canadian composer.

This 7th and last concert of CUF's 2017 festival season is set in Mt Tabor Theatre (pastoral-urbane-nostalgic). A playground and extensive green-space adjoins the theatre: be prepared for a classical(ly) unbound time, with measured frolick and playground pleasures. Do bring your own non-alcoholic drinks and nibbles to satisfy pre- or in-concert peckishness.

As in our other Sunday matinée concert, the music is especially 'playful', and there is a substantial speaking part. The musicians will indulge in explaining the interconnection between the pieces, and between instruments, in a historic context. They will explore how and why one composer influenced another, and possibly venture into how future music may itself be influenced: 'classical' music is a living thing, a millennium after its inception.

The first 25 adult concert arrivals will receive a Grange of Prince Edward Estate Winery "tasting card" - which awards a complimentary tasting for 1-to-6 people any day except Saturday.

Location: Mt Tabor Theatre, 2179 County Road 17 C, Athol (Milford), Prince Edward County, Ontario. A deconsecrated historic church renovated into a professional performance space, 130 person capacity, air-conditioned comfort, replete with plush red 1950s movie theatre seats, playground alongside, just outside of Milford.

Time: Theatre opens at 13:30, concert at 14:00.
