SUMMER NOCTURNE
Mendelssohn String Quartet, Op. 44 No. 1
Puccini Chrysanthemi
Beethoven String Quartet, Op. 18 No. 6
Take a long sip of summer as you let this lovely music wash over you. Felix Mendelssohn will awaken our palates with some of his lighthearted drama before we turn down the garden path to take in the dark, cloying sweetness of Puccini’s Chrysantemi. Not to worry: an early Beethoven quartet full of noble charm and rustic innocence will send us all home full of fresh good intentions.
Hillier will be hosting a reception with hors d’oeuvres and sparkling wine for all concert-goers to enjoy from 6-7pm.
